SHORT STORY

This transition seems all to easy for me. All I feel is bliss. I’m at our vacation spot, did you even know I use to HATE this place? The mountains use to look jagged. I use to think this place was desolate. It use to make me feel dreary. Now, the mountains greet me falls glory. God, must have a paintbrush. The trees appear to be painted with shades of reds, oranges, greens, and gold. The rays of sunshine are glistening off of my glass of freshly squeezed orange juice.
You know, I can still taste the sting of your cheap whiskey, when you would press your wet mouth to mine. But, it doesn’t even bother me any more. The sensation is going away day by day. This picture, this view, right here, in front of me, is gods gift saying that its all better now. This feels like a re-birth, my happy ending…
As the birds start calling in the distance, as the last of the sun climbs the mountains. The morning is ready to start, my new life is ready to start. I go inside with tears of happiness sliding down my face.
